Our Mission
The Ohio State University’s SCNO chapter is a member of a growing network of top university students around the country, dedicated to enriching and uplifting the global nonprofit community. We focus on bringing professional, entirely pro-bono consulting to those companies that focus on bettering the world around them. By employing the diverse backgrounds, skills, and knowledge of our members, we can significantly contribute to the missions of our clients. We are an organization built on the pillars of empowering the community around us, developing leaders through real-world experience, and delivering professional results.
Empower Communities
Through our work in SCNO, we are committed to creating impactful outcomes in the Columbus community and beyond. Over the past 13 years, we have helped our clients fulfill their missions through comprehensive deliverables. Our organization works with a diverse array of different nonprofits, all working to tackle problems and inequities in the surrounding communities. Through applying our combined education, and personal skills to every deliverable, we exist to create tangible change within the very organizations that spur social impact.
Develop Leaders
The SCNO Chapter at Ohio State is one of the most distinguished chapters of SCNO in the nation, serving local and international communities alike since its founding in 2009. We provide avenues for carefully selected students to gain a deeper understanding of social issues while strengthening their qualitative and quantitative skills. Students have the opportunity to engage in real-world projects, immersing themselves in the many disciplines that they study every day. From creating databases, websites, and reports to presenting and articulating findings to a client, no project is the same, and students learn to adapt to the evolving environments. We have a plethora of opportunities for consultants to further engage in the organization, pushing them to make critical decisions and allowing them to make a deeper impact. Overall, SCNO provides its members with opportunities to develop themselves into qualified and empathic leaders.
Deliver Results
Our associates carry SCNO’s passion with them in every client they serve, while bringing unique and substantial skills learned in one of our nation’s leading universities. Each team is comprised of associate consultants, a project manager, a senior advisor, and a professional advisor. Senior advisors serve as a resource to the PM, provisioning knowledge and experience from previous projects they have led and worked on. Professional advisors are current consultants working in the field who volunteer their expertise and knowledge to help us provide realistic and professional results. Teams work together to provide clients with detailed, high-quality work that can be easily implemented.
