What We Offer

Why You Should Work With Us

The Ohio State University’s chapter of Students Consulting for Nonprofit Organizations offers pro-bono consulting work for Columbus-area nonprofits. Working over a ten-week project cycle, our consultants collaborate on a variety of deliverables, including things like rebranding, database management, improvement of internal processes, marketing, and others. Our teams are always up to the challenge to help you improve your business processes in any way that we can. Our projects consist of four student associate consultants led by one project manager. Each team works together to assist one of a variety of nonprofit clients we have chosen for the semester with clients spanning Columbus, Central Ohio, and Beyond.

We aim to expose our consultants to a variety of real-world business functions and problems in order to provide meaningful deliverables to our clients.

Armor Down Girls

From Project Manager, Audrey Greer: “Armor Down Girls is an organization that provides a safe space for girls to increase confidence, eliminate self-doubt, and promote self-love. Led by Dr. Parsons, ADG supports girls through an after-school reading program. We are working on program creation, a marketing plan, website development, and fundraising. Dr. Parsons has been amazing to work with and is super receptive to our ideas! She knows the value SCNO brings. My team is fantastic and super diligent. Their creative ideas inspire me to think outside the box. I could not have asked for a better group of girls to work with.”

Our team has been working on 3 different deliverables, which consist of increasing revenue, devising methods to attract more young adult volunteers, and developing a method to maintain their digital card check-in system. The associate consultants have been putting in a lot of effort in coming up with creative ways to complete their deliverables while still following our client's specifications. Whether it is through their Guys with Ties & Girls with Pearls program or through their football camps, Beyond the Game is committed to making an impact on our community's youth. Our project team was tasked with helping streamline Beyond the Game's outreach process. Their annual fundraiser, Bourbon with the Buckeyes, raised over $70,000 last year. We have been working towards helping Beyond the Game connect with potential contributors more efficiently so Beyond the Game can continue holding and expanding this incredible event. Aside from that, our team is doing work to allow Beyond the Game to hold events with collegiate and professional athletes. Working with Beyond the Game has been absolutely incredible so far. Our project team is extremely grateful to be given the chance to work with an Ohio State alum and the deliverables assigned to us have been a great opportunity to give our associate consultants impactful project experience. Development Alert

From Project Manager, Joseph Lee: “Our client is Development Alert, which is a non-profit organization based in Uganda. Their mission is to combat poverty, biodiversity loss, and marginalization by addressing their root causes and consequences through sustainable solutions and partnerships. One of our deliverables is establishing student ambassadors for their organization to help promote their mission to the United States. Another deliverable we have been working on is marketing a fundraising campaign for a young tailor in Uganda. Next, our team is helping the organization organize their fundraising structure by suggesting a list of potential sponsors, creating a sponsorship packet, and a fundraising model. Finally, we have worked on their website and helped them organize their membership structure as well. My favorite thing about working with my team is genuinely the people I work with. From our client all the way to our consulting team, they all want to make a positive difference, and they work tirelessly to make that happen. Throughout our entire project cycle, I had never ran across an issue with effort, and the drive from my team members fills me with passion/motivation to do my very best as well. My client also inspires me everyday. I had the pleasure of working with Zachery, who is the CEO of Development Alert. Even when he is immensely busy handling work to help the people in Uganda, he always greets our team with a positive attitude and humility, which makes everyone he interacts with happier. Also, his dedication to his mission inspires not just me but everyone involved in making the world a better place.”
